IRVINGTON—The planning commission for the Town of Irvington will convene at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, at Irvington Baptist Church, 53 King Carter Drive, Irvington, to review and consider modifications to a proposed planned unit development ordinance (PUD).
At a related hearing on November 14, the public overwhelmingly voiced opposition to the initial proposal which would allow for development of up to 20 townhouses or five single homes per acre on properties presently zoned R-2 with 20 acres or more. Some 30% of the property would be designated for green space.
Currently, Irvington’s R-2 zoning allows one house per two-acre lot.
The commission was scheduled to hold an additional workshop on the proposed PUD ordinance November 28.
The Irvington Town Council has scheduled a public hearing on the proposal at 6:30 p.m. December 14 at Irvington Baptist Church.
