The Northern Neck Master Gardeners have scheduled the 2019 Extension Master Gardener (EMG) training class for Tuesday and Thursday mornings, January 15-March 26.
The fee is $150 and sessions will be held at various locations in the Northern Neck.
An educational program of Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE), EMGs bring the resources of Virginia’s land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University, to residents of the Northern Neck. EMG trainees learn about basic botany, nutrient management, soils, basic entomology, diagnosing plant damage, propagation, trees and shrubs, pesticide use and safety, pruning, lawns, vegetable gardening, fruits, perennials and annuals, water quality and conservation, landscape design and other horticulture-related topics.
