Rose to sign books at Holiday Marketplace
Pat Lumpkin Rose will sign her new book, Tides That Bind-Weems VA, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. November 24 at the Steamboat Era Museum Holiday Marketplace, 156 King Carter Drive, Irvington.
Over a five-year period, Rose interviewed and re-connected with Weem’s residents, reported executive director Barbara Brecher. She shares reminiscences about growing up in the community.
Placed within a historical and social context, she has compiled the treasured memories and memorabilia of the people of Weems who lived and worked together over many decades to form a kinship of the rarest kind, said Brecher. Rose acknowledges the deep impression the people and the land made upon her own life.
