Sheriffs’ reports

The Chesapeake Bay Drug Task Force, including the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police, this week announced drug-related charges against seven individuals.

Donte A. Smith, 30, of River Road was charged October 29 with three felony counts of the distribution for profit of a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Dasmine D. Fisher, 27, of Greenwood Court was charged October 29 with felony distribution for resale of a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Lionel L. Baker, 43, of Oakland Street, was charged October 29 with two counts of possession of synthetic marijuana.

Kenneth A. Thomas Jr., 25, of Irvington Road was charged October 30 with five felony counts of distribution for resale of a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Shirley T. Holmes, 52, of Tappahannock was charged October 30 with felony distribution for profit of a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Kathleen D. Carey, 47, of Tappahannock was charged October 30 with felony distribution for profit of a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Iris E. Diggs, 64, of James B. Jones Memorial Highway was charged October 30 with two felony counts of distribution for profit of a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A North Main Street man, 31, was arrested October 31 for assault.

A Virginia Beach man, 42, was charged October 31 with violation of probation.

An Oyster Creek Drive man, 20, was charged November 1 with violating community-based probation.

A Greentown Road man, 26, was charged November 3 with possession of marijuana.

Activity report

October 29: Staff responded to the 500 block of Southport Lane for a prowler, to Johns Neck Road for juveniles around the age of 3 playing in the highway, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway, and to the 9100 block of Mary Ball Road for elderly financial fraud.

October 30: Staff responded to the 900 block of Lara Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Beach Road for a domestic dispute, to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for the theft of a .380 caliber handgun, to a walk-in report of the theft of items from a boat, to the 1600 block of Taylors Creek Road for destruction of a mailbox, and to the 100 block of Harris Drive to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a suicidal person.

October 31: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a pedestrian on the bridge, to the 2300 block of Windmill Point Road for an unattended death, to the 100 block of Sanders Lane for a large ice chest taken from a boat, to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic assault, to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 200 block of Morattico Road for a domestic assault with injuries.

November 1: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive for drug paraphernalia, to the 1400 block of Little Bay Road for a disorderly family member, and to the 200 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist KPD with an attempted burglary.

November 2: Staff responded to the 500 block of White Chapel Road for a possible abuse of an elderly person, to Courthouse Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with entrapment of the driver, and to the 300 block of North Main Street for an assault.

November 3: Staff responded to the 2300 block of River Road for a burglary and assault, to the 8400 block of Courthouse Road for a trespasser, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for a person acting disorderly, to the 17400 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil issue involving personal property, to Ottoman and White Hall roads for juveniles playing in the highway, to the 2100 block of Morattico Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, to the 100 block of Landsend East for three shots fired in the night time, to the 1100 block of Carlson Road for a domestic assault involving alcohol, and to the 100 block of Woods Drive for a stolen 2016 Infinity automobile.

November 4: Staff responded to Lively on Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to Regina Road for a domestic disturbance that involved brandishing a weapon, to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for trespassers, to the 300 block of Apple Grove Boulevard for a trespasser, to the 100 block of New South Road for an assault with a knife, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 2300 block of River Road for death threats.

Staff also conducted 21 traffic stops, issued 17 summonses, assisted 10 motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, fielded three calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received two E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control.

Lancaster fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a downed power line on Bluff Point Road and with the White Stone VFD to smoke in a building on North Main Street.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle crash on Courthouse Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

For October 28-November 3, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 45 calls for service including 16 medical emergencies, 10 injuries, a traffic accident, four fires and 14 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 12 individuals.

Felonies

D’Andre Oneil McDowney, 27, of Montross was charged October 23 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with felonious sell/distribute a controlled substance, namely a Schedule II. He was served by the Virginia State Police.

Brittany Balderson, 33, of Reedville was charged October 25 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with welfare fraud and two counts of perjury.

Sheldon Perez Cox, 33, of Heathsville was charged October 29 with a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating his probation. The arrest was made by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

William Wilton Morrisette IV, 49, of Urbanna was charged October 30 with construction fraud. This was a Northumberland County warrant, served by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

Misdemeanors

A Reedville man, 44, was charged October 19 with driving suspended, third plus offense.

A Hampton man, 45, was charged October 19 with violating a protective order. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Hampton Police Department.

A Lottsburg man, 56, was charged October 23 with a capias to show cause for failing to comply with pre-trial supervision.

A Callao man, 58, was charged October 23 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to obey a court order by violating his pre-trial services.

A Burgess woman, 40, was charged October 25 with a capias/attachment of the body from Lancaster County General District Court for failing to appear. This warrant was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

A Warsaw woman, 27, was charged October 25 with a capias to show cause for failing to obey a court order.

A Reedville man, 44, was charged October 26 with possession of marijuana and a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to obey a court order.

A Kilmarnock man, 32, was charged October 29 with petit larceny, first offense, for stealing from the Virginia ABC store in Kilmarnock. This was a Lancaster County warrant, served by the NCSO.

Northumberland fire calls

For October 29-November 4, the Callao VFD responded to five calls, including two motor vehicle crashes, a woods fire, a mutual aid call to Essex and a controlled burn.

The Fairfields VFD responded to four calls, including a vehicle fire, a medical call and two power lines down.

Northumberland EMS calls

For October 29-November 4, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 21 calls, including 16 medical emergencies, a standby, two motor vehicle crashes and two trauma/falls.
