Volunteers needed for fall waterways cleanup

The Northern Neck Soil & Water Conservation District, in partnership with Friends of the Rappahannock, will coordinate its annual fall waterways cleanup in Richmond County.

The event will be held at Carters Wharf Landing on the Rappahannock River at the end of Carters Wharf Road, off Newland Road, in Richmond County. The cleanup will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 22.

“Invite your friends and family to join you for the afternoon,” said education/outreach specialist Kathleen Watson. “Not only does this serve as a great group outdoor activity, but your donations of time and energy contribute towards significant improvements in the Northern Neck’s land and waterways.”
