White Stone to hold special election Nov. 7

WHITE STONE—The Town of White Stone will conduct a special election on November 7, 2017, for a seat on the town council that became vacant upon the death of council member Joe Sliakis.

The mayor and council members are seeking town residents who are interested in running for the vacant seat and to serve the remaining, unexpired term which ends on July 1, 2018, reported town manager Patrick Frere. Candidates should be qualified voters who live within the town boundaries.

Interested citizens need to file paper work for candidacy with Lancaster County Voter Registrar Susan Jett. The deadline is August 18.

Interested parties may contact Jett at 462-5277, or Frere at 435-3260.
