100th anniversary of World War I Armistice commemorated at Shiloh School ceremony

On Veterans Day, community members and families gathered at the historic Shiloh School at Diller’s Corner to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended fighting in World War I.

The anniversary celebration featured a series of lectures on the role Northumberland County played in World War I entitled “Voices from the War.” Susan Moore, who organized the historical panel discussion, said she got the idea to host the anniversary commemoration when she discovered a box of letters…
