The 60th annual Urbanna Oyster Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, November 3 and 4. The honored oyster will be featured in a variety of presentations—raw, roasted, fried, steamed, frittered and stewed.
Hours for the “pay-as-you-go” festival will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Festival parking will be $10 on Friday and $20 on Saturday in lots on both sides of town.
Water taxis will operate from the Urbanna Town Marina at Upton’s Point on both days. Fees vary. Call Capt. Loftis, 366-1778, or Capt. Edmonds, 436-3898. The use of the Upton’s Point Marina dinghy dock also is available.
There will be street sales, food, children’s rides, games, arts, crafts, entertainment, waterfront educational activities, historical displays both days, according to the Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation.
