After battling to a double overtime win over Northumberland High School in the Northern Neck District semifinal, Lancaster couldn’t overcome a two-goal deficit against Rappahannock in the tournament championship.
The Raiders scored two goals in the second half to break a 1-1 lock at the break on Wednesday, May 20, to beat Lancaster, 3-1, in the district final.
River Diaz scored Lancaster’s only goal in the championship match on a corner kick from Isaac Hernandez in the first half.
LHS goalkeeper Antonio Tomlin had eight saves….
