Beekeepers

The Northern Neck Beekeepers Club meets at 7 p.m. on second Mondays at Heathsville United Methodist Church, 39 Courthouse Road, Heathsville.

History talk

The Historic Christ Church & Museum (HCC&M) Summer Speaker Series will open at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 11, in the Bayne Center, HCC&M, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. Tony Williams will present “All Men are Created Equal: The Declaration of Independence and Black Freedom Suits & Freedom Petitions.”

The event will include a presentation and  a wine and cheese reception with the speaker. Tickets are $50 per speaker, or $140 for the series at christchurch1735.org/programs.

Concert by the Creek

Faron Hamblin will return June 13 to the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, 504 Main Street, Reedville. The concert will be held from 6-9 p.m. in the pavilion. Tickets are $25. Purchase tickets at www.rfmuseum.org, or the door.

Music by the River

The 2026 Music by the River summer concert series will open June 13 at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster. The concert will feature Chris & Jane from 6-8 p.m in the picnic area.

Michael Bergamo will be featured June 20; The Tidewinders, July 11; Jumbo Lump Daddy & The Backfin Boys, July 18; The Windbags, August 8; and Ramona & The Holy Smokes, August 15.

Picnic at Cedardale

Guests are welcome by land or creek to the Picnic at Cedardale to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The event will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at 74 Cedardale Lane, Irvington, on the eastern branch of Carter Creek.

There will be food, drinks, a raffle, a silent auction and music by Cook County Bluegrass and Deadrise. Tickets are $40. Purchase tickets at eventbrite.com/e/the-picnic-at-cedardale-to-benefit-alzheimers-association-tickets-1983794748495.

Photo Group

The Rappahannock Art League Photo Group seeks new members of all levels who wish to improve their skills. The Photo Group meets at 10 a.m. on third Mondays at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

American Legion Adams Post 86 meets at 5 p.m. on third Tuesdays at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. 

Sigsbee to visit

The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum (RFM) will welcome the historic Chesapeake Bay skipjack Sigsbee June 17-18. The Sigsbee will dock on Cockrell Creek at 902 Main Street, Reedville. The Sigsbee crew will offer free deck tours and educational programs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 17 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 18.

RFM, 504 Main Street, Reedville, will be open from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 17, as well. Regular admission applies. RFM is the home of the historic skipjack Claud W. Somers.

“Northern Neck 250”

“Northern Neck 250,” a film depicting local events during the American Revolution, will be shown at 7 p.m. June 17 and 22 at Compass Cinema Six, 100 Entertainment Drive, Irvington. The film was produced by 26th Street Media in association with Kilmarnock Museum and the Northumberland County Historical Society.

Tickets are $10. Proceeds will benefit the two history organizations. Purchase tickets at the Kilmarnock Museum, or call Carroll Lee Ashburn for reservations, 296-0930.

Landscape tour

Director of landscapes Matt Peterschmidt will present Explore the Past, Present and Future of Stratford’s Historic Gardens and Grounds from 10 a.m.-noon June 20 at Stratford Hall Historic Preserve, 483 Great House Road, Stratford.

The tour will look at the past, present and future of the landscape around the nearly 300-year-old Great House. Tickets are $46.90 at stratfordhall.org.
