Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.
Felony
Austin Neil Green, 34, of Lancaster was charged June 3 with knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm having been convicted of a felony.
Misdemeanor
A Kilmarnock man, 40, was charged June 2 with contempt of court/failure to appear in Newport News Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court on April 7.
A Kilmarnock Lancaster man, 33, was charged June 4 with two counts of assault and battery, and petit larceny.
A Lancaster woman, 27, was charged June 4 with contempt of court/failure to appear in Newport News Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court on March 20.
A Lancaster man, 30, was charged June 5 with pointing, holding or brandishing firearm, disorderly conduct in a public place, and abusive language to another.

June 1: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Boys Camp roads for a disabled vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 500 block of Boys Camp Road for a suspicious vehicle.
June 2: Staff responded to Kamps Mill Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 50 block of Meadowview Lane for legal advice, and to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver.
June 3: Staff responded to the 8000 Block of Mary Ball Road for identity theft, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for destruction of property, and to the 13000 block of River Road for a wanted person.
June 4: Staff responded to Courthouse Road for suspicious activity, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for verbal threats, to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for a scam, to Courthouse and White Chapel roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, to Steamboat Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic assault.
June 5: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a multiple-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for a domestic disturbance.
June 6: Staff responded to the 50 block of Windjammer Lane for a suspicious person, to the 3000 block of Lara Road for trespassing, and to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for threats.
June 7: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a suspicious person, to White Pine Drive and Irvington Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to Devils Bottom and Mary Ball roads for a reckless driver.
Staff also conducted 38 traffic stops, issued 26 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received eight E911 hang up calls, and fielded two requests for animal control.
Fire calls
Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a residential structure fire on Old Orchard Road.
Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to a commercial oven fire on North Main /street and to a brush fire on Jordan Lane.
White Stone VFD also responded to separate traffic crashes on the Norris Bridge ad at White Pine Drive and Irvington Road and a vehicle fire on Newtown Road.
Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 21 individuals.
Felonies
Ashley R. Oliver, 39, of Heathsville was charged on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for perjury on a false application for welfare, not notifying the change and welfare fraud.
Damarea Darrell Rice, 23, of Kilmarnock was charged May 16 with possession of a firearm on school property.
Michael Sullivan, 30, of Heathsville was charged on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with three felony counts of rape of a 13-year-old child. He also was charged with three felony charges of forcible sodomy. He was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony C. Holden, 51, of Hague was charged May 20 with stealing lottery tickets, valued at more than $1,000 and belonging to the Little Sue Convenience Store. He was served by Westmoreland County.
Nathan L. Emminizer Sr., 76, of Heathsville was charged May 20 on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with two felony counts of aggravated sexual battery and four counts of sexual assault with a child less than age 13. These were Northumberland County charges served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
James Lamont Thompson, 48, of Callao was charged May 27 on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with two felony charges of selling /distributing a Schedule I/II drug, and felony possession of a Schedule I/II drug.
Robert Wayne Hoffert, 39, of Kilmarnock was charged May 26 on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with raping his spouse by force or threat and forcible intercourse. This was a Northumberland indictment served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.
Derrick Donta Smith, 24, of Heathsville was charged May 27 on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for felony distribution/selling of a Schedule I/II drug, and two counts of distributing a controlled drug on school property.
David Isiah Ford, 22, of Reedville was charged May 27 on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with selling/distributing a Schedule I/II drug.
Robert Antoine Thompson, 47, of Callao was charged May 27 on а capias to show cause for failing to comply with probation on a felony charge.
Jonathan Brann, 34, of Callao was charged May 28 with abduction by force and damaging property.
Christopher Lee Hollett, 41, of King George was charged June 1 on a capias to show cause issued by Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The original charge was possession of a controlled substance. He was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
James Howard Slater Jr., 24 of Reedville was charged June 3 on a direct indictment issued by the Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with four felony counts of selling/distributing a Schedule I/II drug.
Jerry Lee Hicks, 59, of Heathsville was charged June 4 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear in their court on original charges of construction fraud and no contractor’s license.
Eddie Lee Gallagher, 51, of Mechanicsville was charged June 7 with a felony count of driving with a revoked license, third plus offense. He also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal of the breath test and driving with an open container. He was further charged with lane markings/single lane-switching lanes, and he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Misdemeanors
A 28-year-old (gender and address not specified) was charged on a capias/attachment issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear on the original charges of reckless driving and speeding 100 mph in a 55-mph zone.
A Lottsburg man, 28, was charged May 23 with harassment by computer. This was an Essex County warrant served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
A Lancaster man, 19, was charged with assault. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
A Callao man, 34, was charged May 23 with being drunk in public.
A Callao man, 32, was charged May 31 with assault and assault and battery on a family member.
A Callao woman, 38, was charged June 7 with violation of a family preliminary protective order. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.
