Lancaster High School sophomore pitcher Addie George, who led the Lady Devils to the top seed in the Northern Neck District and Region 1A during the regular season and a Class 1 quarterfinal berth, was named region player of the year.

George pitched in all 26 LHS softball games this season for a 20-6 record with 90 strikeouts and a 2.61 ERA. At the plate, George had a .555 average as the Lady Devils lead-off batter. She had 41 hits, including 11 doubles, three triples and a home run with 17 RBI.
George also was one of the three pitchers on the all-region first team. She shared first team honors with teammates, sophomore third baseman Kelsey Bishoff and junior catcher Lily Russell…..
