Anglers, ready your rods and reels! Registration has opened for the 18th annual Dream Fields Spanish Mackerel Tournament July 25.
The tournament features cash prizes for first- through fifth-place winners, as well as top junior angler, top lady angler and top special angler, according to director Amy Forrester. The first place prize is $2,500, second $1,000, third $750, fourth $500 and fifth $250. Additionally, a $25,000 prize for breaking the state record is sponsored by Blue Ridge Bank.
Tournament entry is $200 per boat. The final opportunity to register will be at a captain’s meeting at 7 p.m. July 24….
