Sheriffs’ Reports 1-17-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felony

Christine Marie Stewart, 58, of Lancaster was charged January 9 as a fugitive from justice, failure to appear on felony robbery.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 31, was charged January 7 with driving with a revoked or suspended license, second offense.

A White Stone man, 49, was charged January 9 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense.

A Lancaster woman, 43, was charged January 9 with failure to appear on traffic summons.

A Lancaster man, 26, was charged January 10 with trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

A Burgess man, 39, was charged January 10 with trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

A Lancaster man, 38, was charged January 12 with failure to comply with a juvenile and domestic relations court order.

A Lancaster man, 49, was charged January 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

January 7: Staff responded to the 500 block of Lara Road to investigate a burglary and larceny, to the 100 block of White Pine Drive for an assault, to the 200 block of Beach Road to assist emergency medical services, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats to harm another.

January 8: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in Lancaster for a reckless driver, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 1800 block of Morattico Road for threats made to harm another, to the 4900 block of Mary Ball Road for destruction of property, to Mary Ball and Old Salem roads to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a vehicle and foot pursuit, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for stolen license plates, to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a fight in progress, and to the 3800 block of Mary Ball Road for an out-of-control juvenile.

January 9: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a stolen vehicle, to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road to check the welfare of two juveniles that had not been returned to the custodial parent, to the 11000 block of River Road for trespassers, and to the 2900 block of Lara Road for a possible prowler.

January 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Rowes Point Road for trespassers, and to the 700 block of Christ Church Road for a possible burglary.

January 11: Staff responded to White Hall Road for a female slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle, to the 3700 block of Weems Road for fraud by identity theft, to the 500 block of Southport Lane for a possible prowler, to Mary Ball and Old Salem Road for the report of two males walking in the highway, to the 100 block of Fairway Drive for a traffic crash on public property.

January 12: Staff responded to Rappahannock Drive and Shady Lane for a domestic assault.

January 13: Staff responded to Mary Ball and River roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, to the 100 block of Brent Court for a domestic disturbance, to the 2000 block of Irvington Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with threats made to harm another.

Staff also conducted 11 traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted 8 motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled six calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received seven E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

EMS calls

For January 6-12, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 47 calls for service, including 31 medical emergencies, five injuries, a traffic accident and 10 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Terry Lament Parker Jr., 24, of Burgess was charged January 8 on a capias to show cause from the Westmoreland County Circuit Court for violating his probation on a felony offense, namely unlawful wounding. He also was charged with assault and battery, shoplifting from the Family Dollar and petit larceny in Westmoreland County. In Northumberland County, he was charged with giving false identification to a law enforcement officer.

Nickolas Van-Jor Chinn, 18, of Heathsville was charged January 13 with breaking and entering into a residence, 15 counts of grand larceny of firearms and damaging property.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged January 8 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for an original charge of possession of marijuana.

A Lottsburg man, 55, was charged January 10 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for an arraignment on a driving suspended charge.

Fire calls

For January 7-14, the Callao VFD responded to a fire and a motor vehicle crash.

The Fairfields VFD responded to two fire alarms, a fire, three medical calls and two motor vehicle crashes.

EMS calls

For January 7-14, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 31 calls including 22 medical emergencies, two motor vehicle crashes, six falls and a standby request.
