Gifted and talented sixth graders tour Port Isobel to enhance bay studies

With a generous grant from the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund and the Virginia License Plate Initiative, sixth grade Northumberland talented and gifted students traveled to Port Isobel on September 23, 24 and 25.

The sixth graders who went spent three days and two nights doing activities such as night hikes, marsh mucking, crabbing, scraping and learning about Chesapeake Bay species, reported gifted services coordinator Shauna McCranie. This experience is one that many former Northumberland students say was one of their fondest school memories.
