Election 2019: Northumberland District 3 polling places combined, registration deadline nears, two write-ins announced

BURGESS—Voters in Northumberland County’s District 3 will cast their ballots at a new polling place on November 5.

District 3 was previously divided into two polling places. District 3-A, precinct 301, voted at the Light of Christ Anglican Church, Heathsville, and District 3-B, precinct 302, voted at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Wicomico Church.

Because of a lack of volunteer officers of election to staff the polling places, the Northumberland County Electoral Board requested that the board of supervisors approve an ordinance combining the two polling places into one,” said Joe Schlatter, secretary of the Northumberland County Electoral Board.

The new combined polling place for District 3 is Fairfields United Methodist Church, 14741 Northumberland Highway, Burgess. Voting will be inside the church Fellowship Hall.
