A week after Gov. Ralph Northam closed K-12 schools, Lancaster superintendent Dan Russell announced that “officially the school year has come to an end.”
Russell said the district would “continue to provide learning opportunities through packets and online resources” to encourage “continuity of learning” and to “reinforce skills previously taught.” New material will not be covered during this time. He acknowledged that “this event will create gaps in the learning of each child,” but he is “confident that our students and staff will rise to the challenge once we return to a more formal setting.”
