Superintendent Russell gives technology update

KILMARNOCK—Superintendent Dan Russell told the Lancaster school board on September 8, they are “off to a good start” with online learning.

Director of technology Kevin Bean is visiting homes with connectivity issues, said Russell.

Right now, we have 24 students with no internet,” he said. “We made paper packets for them and are working on a solution. That may be through the partnership through the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck or the Northern Neck YMCA.”

Russell also said they have had some success with T-Mobile hotspots working in places where the Verizon hotspots would not. He also reminded folks there are multiple areas throughout the county where free Wi-Fi is available, including…
