Red Devils slide deeper in baseball

The varsity Red Devils dropped two games last week to fall to 2-4 in varsity baseball with six games remaining in regular season play.

Essex edged Lancaster, 4-3, last Tuesday and Colonial Beach beat the Devils, 6-1, on Thursday.

Once again, we were in the game but weren’t able to score runs when opportunities presented themselves,” said LHS coach Welby Saunders. “We left runners on third with less than one out six different times in the two games, and—being a young team—we have to score when the opportunity presents itself. The boys are working hard and hopefully we can put together a run at the end of the season.”

Lancaster scored first against the Trojans, pushing one run across….
