Patriotism shines at farmers markets

During April, May and continuing into June, the Northern Neck Patriotic Piecers—the local chapter of the Quilts of Valor Foundation—have awarded Quilts of Valor to service members and veterans outside and under a tent.

At the April Heathsville Farmers Market, quilts were presented to Matthew Holley and Carl Wermter, reported Denise Mumms. Holley is an Army veteran and Wermter is active duty Army.

At the May Heathsville Farmers Market, quilts were presented to Navy Veteran Roger Guy. Also, it’s always a joy to present to a couple, Ralph and Latoya Williams, who served in the Army together in Iraq, said Munns.

At the June Irvington Farmers Market, a quilt was presented….
