Holly Ball spans four generations

Ellis Meade Watkins, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Johnson Watkins of St. Simons Island, Ga., will continue a long family tradition when she is presented at the 125th Holly Ball on December 28 at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.

Miss Watkins’ great-grandmother, Mary Meade Dameron Woodson from Weems, reigned as Queen of the Holly Ball in 1935. Mrs. Woodson’s daughter, Margaret Woodson Nea of Weems and Richmond, was presented in 1959. Mrs. Woodson’s three granddaughters, Courtney Randolph Nea Jones of Sewickley, Pa.; Anne Meade Nea Watkins of St. Simons Island; and Kathryn Elizabeth Woodson Dumont of Fredericksburg, were presented at the 1985, 1988 and 1993 Holly Balls respectively.

Miss Watkins, who attends the University of Georgia, will be presented by her father, Bradley Johnson Watkins, and escorted by Bennett Nelson Colbert.
