‘Freezin’ for a Reason’ returns to Camp Kekoka January 29

Participants for the 13th annual Polar Bear Plunge for YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka will again be “Freezin’ for a Reason” at 11 a.m. January 29. After a relatively mild April dip in 2021 due to COVID-19 postponement, plungers are happy to jump in the chilly waters of Indian Creek for a great cause.

“I have been plunging for five years and I participate because it is a fun and easy way to support Camp Kekoka and send kids to camp,” said Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce executive director Anne Paparella.     

Thirty two plungers raised over $30,000 last year, which enabled 60 children to have a camp adventure. Proceeds raised from the plunge enable….
