Samuel arraigned on first degree murder charge

HEATHSVILLE—Tyrone N. Samuel, 50, of Heathsville was arraigned Tuesday, February 1, on a first degree murder charge related to the death of Ahrea’l La’Shae Smith.

The proceedings in Northumberland County Circuit Court came a week after a Northumberland County grand jury issued a direct indictment charging Samuel with the crime.

Samuel also was arraigned January 21 in Northumberland County General District Court on an abduction by force charge related to Smith’s disappearance. Smith went missing after closing…..
