The Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society (VAHS) will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at the Pilot House Restaurant, 2737 Greys Point Road, Topping.
A recorded program will showcase “AirVenture,” of Oshkosh, Wis., the Greatest Annual Airshow, which takes place for one week each year in late July/early August, reported liaison George A. Galo.
In the words of Jack Pelton, Experimental Aircraft Association’s chief executive, “AirVenture is a city that arises in July and disappears in August, …every AirVenture is a mix of old and new, and… you might see a Curtiss Jenny parked next to an F-22, …a distinct possibility in any given year.”
In short, if it floats, flies or otherwise goes airborne, folks will find it….
