Christchurch School head soccer coach Matt Schaefer has been named Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II Coach-of-the-Year.
The Seahorses varsity boys soccer team recently won the VISAA 2022 Division II State Championship, defeating North Cross School of Roanoke, 2-1, at City Stadium in Richmond in the championship match, reported communications assistant Jennifer Homer. The Seahorses had defeated Blue Ridge School of St. George, 1-0, earlier in the week at the semifinals.
