LHS indoor track squad just gets better

Lancaster High’s 4X800 meter boys relay team posted the fastest time in the state among Class 1/2 teams and thrower Reece Rhodes won his fifth gold medal of the season in the shot put at the Suffolk Invitational in Hampton last Saturday.

Held at the Boo Williams Complex, the indoor track invitational included 15 teams.

The Red Devils boys 4X800 team ran the race in 8:48.57 to beat runner-up Lakeland (9:04.24) by over 16 seconds. It also beat North Stafford, Hampton, Nansemond River, Benedictine, Highland Springs and North Stafford.

Rhodes put the shot 50’4” to win that event. Lancaster’s Brady Vandlandingham put the shot 39’11” to place seventh.
