Lancaster man dies following auto crash

MORATTICO—At 7:09 p.m. Saturday, April 8, Virginia State Police (VSP) responded to a single-vehicle crash on Morattico Road approximately .28 miles east of Peirces Road in Lancaster County.

A 2006 Chrysler Sebring driven by Maurice Warren Boyd, 74, of Lancaster ran off the road to the right while traveling west on Morattico Road and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to overturn, reported Virginia State Police public information officer Sgt. Jessica Shehan.

Boyd succumbed to injuries on the scene, said Sgt. Shehan. He was not wearing a seatbelt. 

This crash remains under investigation.
