HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, October 10, with the Hon. Joseph J. Ellis presiding.
Lakeena O. Noel of Heathsville pleaded guilty to two charges of not notifying department of change in circumstance more than $200, perjury through a false welfare application, and larceny of over $200 through welfare fraud. She was sentenced to 20 years with 18 years and 9 months suspended. She faces $3,541.84 in costs and will be placed on indefinite supervision.
In the case of Kai R. Renton of Heathsville, charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture of Schedule I/II drug and two counts of construction fraud through advanced pay of over $1,000, a trial was carried over to October 24. Renton also faces misdemeanor charges of obtaining money under false pretenses and working without a license/violation of contractor regulations.
