NPL announces special events for January

Amateur sleuths are invited to solve The Mystery of the Golden Book at the Northumberland Public Library (NPL), 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, from 5-7 p.m. January 19.

This free event has food, mystery and fun for the whole family, reported director Jane Blue. A cast of characters will keep folks guessing until the mystery is solved.

Other upcoming events at NPL include:

•  Computer classes, January 8, 22 and 29. Free computer classes are held every Monday (excluding holidays) from 3-5 p.m. Classes cover all skills from beginner to expert. Bring a laptop, iPad or phone or use a library laptop. No signup is required.

• Storytime, January 9, 16, 23 and 30. NPL will hold story time at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. This event is for all ages and includes stories, a craft and songs. No signup is required for this free program.

• After school club, January 10, 17, 24 and 31. After school club for grades 1-5 will meet from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesdays. There will be….
