Three Lancaster High athletes competed on the national stage in March, bringing home a new school record and several medals.
Senior thrower Reece Rhodes placed fourth in the championship division with a put of 60’8.75” in the shot put at the Adidas Track Nationals 2024 in Virginia Beach March 15-17.
Lancaster junior distance runner Matthew Kane placed second in the 800 meter run in the National Elite division with a new LHS record time of 1:57. Junior teammate Josh Woolard ran the race in 2:02. Both were personal best performances and “outstanding times,” said LHS assistant track coach James Timm.
They both also ran the one mile run with Kane running a 4:36.39 and Woolard a 4:52.74.
