Lady Devils beat Hopewell, 17-4; suffer two losses

Braelyn Johnson pitched all three games for Lancaster last week as the Lady Devils went 1-3 in varsity softball.

LHS drew 12 walks and had four batters hit by a pitch to beat Hopewell, 17-4, in five innings on Friday. April 12.

Lancaster also had 13 hits with lead-off batter Lily Russell hitting four singles and scoring once. Ayla Saunders had two hits with a run scored and Johnson had a single and double with a walk to score three times.

Lily Hathaway scored four times on two walks, hit by pitch and a single and Skye Smith recorded a run and a double.

The Devils fell to 3-6 overall last week and 0-2 in the league after losing, 5-1, to Northumberland in the Northern Neck District opener on Tuesday, April 9, and then falling to Westmoreland….
