
VILLAGE—Edwin Earl “Ed” King, 68, of Village, passed away on August 10, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, businessman, pastor and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ed was born on November 1, 1955, to Earl and Elsie King. He graduated from Rappahannock High School, then married his high school sweetheart, Loretta. This year they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
He worked at French’s Market for years before starting King’s Cleaning Services Inc. He also was the pastor of the Church of the Northern Neck. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, passion for helping others and his love for Jesus.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Loretta (Swann) King; his children, Amanda (Sean) Mallory and Stacy (Mark) Kleinschmidt; his grandchildren, Blake and Sara Kleinschmidt; and his brother Ennis King.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Diane King.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A funeral service for Ed will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 16, at Totuskey Baptist Church with the Reverend Neale Schools officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Ed will be laid to rest following the service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his loving memory to 10,000 Reasons, 435 Piney Grove Road, Warsaw, VA 22572.
