Sheriff’s Report 11-14-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Kilmarnock woman, 21, was charged November 6 with a pretrial violation.

Scams and frauds

The Lancaster/Northumberland TRIAD will host an event from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, November 14, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

Speakers will include representatives from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia Attorney General’s Office and Chesapeake Bank. The topic will be scams and frauds. RSVP can be sent to triadevents@gmail.com.

A Damascus, Md., man, 19, was charged November 10 with destruction of property, two counts of trespassing, and reckless driving on parking lots.

A Reedville woman, 42, was charged November 8 with destruction of property.

November 4: Staff responded to the 800 block of Merry Point Road for destruction of property, to the 60 block of Summers Lane for a verbal dispute, to the 3000 block of Black Stump Road for trespassing, to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for trespassing, and to Mary Ball and High Bank roads for a disabled vehicle.

November 5: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Drive for a disorderly person, to Old Salem Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of North Main Street for an assault, to the 3000 block of Black Stump Road for an adult welfare check, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 6000 block of Morattico Road for an adult welfare check.

November 6: Staff responded to the 60 block of Jeffery Avenue for a traffic complaint, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats, to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, to North Main and School streets for a disabled vehicle, to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for a runaway juvenile (safely located); and to the 100 block of Harris Road for a gunshot wound.

November 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for computer hacking, to Mary Ball and River roads for a reckless driver, to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for threats, to Youcomico Drive for a noise complaint, and to River Road for a traffic complaint.

November 8: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a fraud, to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 60 block of Summers Lane for a civil complaint, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, and to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for gunshots in the late evening hours.

November 9: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 1500 block of Avis Trail for a suspicious vehicle, to the 400 block of Mosquito Point Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Moccasin Trail for a noise complaint.

November 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for loitering, to Harris Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 600 block of McSwain Road for an adult welfare check.

Staff also conducted 32 traffic stops, issued 24 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged an inmate transport, received seven E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire call

Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to a vehicle fire at 219 Pond Park Road.
