St. Mary’s Whitechapel Episcopal Church, 5940 White Chapel Road, Lively, invites the community to a New Year’s Day Celtic walking service.
Meet at the church labyrinth at 10 a.m. for meditative walking, Celtic music and readings along the forest path.
Trail B, a new portion, will be offered for a longer meditative journey of approximately 1 mile. Walking sticks are available and there are benches along the way. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
“This tradition of walking the trails on New Year’s Day, in its third year, offers a peaceful contemplative way to enter intentionally into the new year,” said Rev. Deb Lockhart, deacon.
Walkers will return to the labyrinth for a closing Celtic prayer, followed by light refreshments.
