
KILMARNOCK—It takes 1,267 aluminum can pop tops to make one pound.
Garfield’s Rescue (GRI) president Karen S. Peterson recently donated eight pounds of aluminum pop tops to Kilmarnock McDonald’s manager Karetha Smith for the Ronald McDonald’s House Charity (RMHC).
That equals 10,136 cans of cat food that GRI opened to feed an annual average of 400 homeless, abandoned cats and kittens in their care, said Peterson.
