With members competing in multiple sports on the same day, the Lancaster High School boys and girls track teams took a skeleton crew to Tappahannock on Wednesday, May 7, where the Red Devils had eight score in the boys meet and five score in the girls events.
Middlesex scored 122 points to win the five-team boys track and field meet at Essex, while the host Trojans scored 67.5 as the runner-up. Westmoreland was third with 61 points; Mathews, fourth with 52; and Lancaster, fifth with 27.5.
In the girls meet, Mathews won with 82 points. Middlesex was second with 71; Essex, third with 68; Westmoreland, fourth with 48; and Lancaster, fifth with 23.
Chassity Henderson led the LHS girls, scoring 12 of her team’s total as the runner-up in both the 100 meter, 19.34, and 300 meter, 52.30, hurdles.
