Memorial Day Commemoration honorees serve as JROTC leaders

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will hold a Memorial Day Commemoration May 26 at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. The ceremony will begin with patriotic music at 11 a.m. followed by a formal observance at 11:30 a.m.

According to program coordinator, retired U.S. Army Maj. Edgar Doleman, the U.S. military enlisted and officer honorees will be retired U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Derrick Lemon and retired U.S. Air Force. Lt. Col. Ronald G. “RG” McManus Jr. Each also is the leader of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs at Northumberland High School (Army) and Lancaster High School (Air Force), respectively.

Sgt. Lemon, is a 1991 graduate of Gloucester….
