Freshmen Miko Layne and Keichan Layne finished first and second, respectively, in a multi-school cross country meet at Hills Quarter on Wednesday, September 24, to lead Middlesex to a win in the girls race with a low 22 points.
The Lady Chargers had all five scoring runners finish in the top 10. Northampton was second with 48 points, Rappahannock third with 59 and host Lancaster fourth with 89. Westmoreland did not have a full team.
M. Layne ran the 3.1-mile race 23:48. K. Layne finished it in 25:00 flat.
