Lancaster overcame a first-quarter deficit and held a narrow lead until late in the fourth quarter when Northumberland went on an 11-4 run to defeat the Red Devils, 34-29, in junior varsity boys basketball on Friday, January 9.
The Devils opened Northern Neck District play on Tuesday, January 6, with a 45-10 win over Colonial Beach and stand at 4-1 overall with their first loss of the season to the NHS Indians.
The Indians went up 8-3 after holding the host Devils to a field goal by Zeric Jones and a free throw by Kamerun Davis before Jones scored six points to spark a 12-6 second quarter run and give LHS a one-point lead at the half. The Devils stayed ahead….
