Irvington council prepares for budget season; continues to grapple with storage issues

IRVINGTON—The Irvington Town Council is preparing for the fiscal year 2026-27 budget planning season, according to budget and finance committee chairman Mary Cary Bradley.

On Thursday, January 8, Bradley said budget planning will start full swing come early February. According to Bradley, the committee will take stock of the current budget and identify any holes or issues. Additionally, the committee will make note of any changes needed in moving forward.

Bradley highlighted several additions and changes to be considered, including funding for a treasurer, on-call engineering consultants to help streamline projects, pickleball court upkeep, a back-stop for the tennis court, a basketball hoop for the Commons, an increase in the Fourth of July Parade budget and increases for charitable donations.

The town is fortunate to have capable, hard-working individuals who create the budget each….
