Planning commission recommends site plan for restaurant at Harpers Creek Park

LANCASTER—A new restaurant may be added to the amenities at Harpers Creek Park, a public/private partnership with Stay The Course LLC, which is set to open near White Stone with a ribbon cutting on April 18.

The Lancaster County Planning Commission on Thursday, March 19, recommended approval of the site plan to the board of supervisors, 6-0.

Director of planning and land use Olivia Hall said staff had “conducted a site plan review for conformance with the zoning ordinance, the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act (CBPA) and the erosion and sediment control ordinance” and found no issues.

She said the CBPA “allows the encroachment within the 100-foot Resource Protection Area” because the restaurant building, previously a proposed bait and snack shop, “met the definition of a water-dependent…
