The Lady Devils held off a final-inning rally by the Chargers on Wednesday, April 8, to edge Middlesex, 6-4, in varsity softball and improve to 7-2 overall.
It was Lancaster’s second win over Middlesex in four weeks but a lot closer than the 17-run blowout against the Chargers to open the season and 10-0 shutout over MHS during the Wells Fargo Advisors Invitational.

LHS pitcher Addie George went the distance for the win, posting seven strikeouts, two walks and nine hits allowed.
Courtney Jessie pitched all seven for MHS and struck out six, walked two and gave up 10 hits.
George led LHS on offense as well, going 4-for-4 with a double for three runs. Kelsey Bishoff had two RBI and run scored on two hits. Suzi Geier scored once and had an RBI on a triple. Elizabeth Keyser, Lily Russell and Kelsie Cox had one hit each with Russell scoring once. She and Cox knocked a run in each. Kynleigh Wilson also had an RBI on a fielder’s choice.
Lancaster scored one in the top of the first after George hit a double to left field and Bishoff earned the RBI with a fielder’s choice. The Lady Devils took a 3-0 lead with Bishoff and Russell scoring in the top of the fourth.
