Alice H. Fallin

Alice H. Fallin

HEATHSVILLE—It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Alice Hughes Fallin, 91, of Heathsville, known as “Aunt Alice” to many loved ones. But to her sons Glenn, Steve and Troy, she will always be remembered affectionately as Mom.

Born in Gonyon on May 28, 1933, she was the youngest child of Dulice and John “Johnny Buck” Hughes.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her 10 brothers and sisters and her husband of 56 years, Edward Morris Fallin. She is survived by her three sons, Edward Glenn Fallin, Stephen Clay Fallin (Sara) and John Troy Fallin (Marie).

Alice will be remembered for her faithful service at Fairfields Baptist Church in Burgess, where she taught Sunday school, served on the WMU, and served on many committees. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. She raised her three boys and taught them all the little things in life that no one notices but are so very important.

Alice enjoyed growing flowers and raising a large garden. She was an avid sender of cards and notes, and made everyone she cared about feel thought of. We will miss those notes. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

A visitation was held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. Procession was then made to Fairfields Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Northumberland County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1, Reedville, VA 22539.
