
DELTAVILLE—James Michael “Mike” Gorin departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2024.
He was born on June 30th, 1948, to Dorothy and William Gorin in Lima, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Bourdon Gordin, who resides in Deltaville; his sister, Joanna Cronin of Michigan and Florida; mother-in-law, Betsy Bourdon; three sisters-in-law, Cheryl, Susan and Sue; one brother-in-law, Kevin; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike worked for 25 years as an electrical engineer in semiconductors for IBM. He was then the lead engineer with a new start up business between IBM and Toshiba. His passion was sailing, which he enjoyed on Lake Champlain in Vermont as well as the Chesapeake Bay. He loved his church family at Christ Church. He held many positions at Christ Church including the vestry, junior warden and volunteering on the tech team and cemetery committees.
His celebration of life was held December 15 at Christ Church Parrish, Saluda.
