Automobile accident damages Lively Hope Baptist Church cemetery

CALLAO—Despite additional safety measures installed following a 2021 accident, another vehicle has missed the northbound turn on Lively Hope Road and crashed into the Lively Hope Baptist Church cemetery, leaving a trail of broken headstones and gravesites.

According to Sgt. Jessica Sheehan, Division 1 public information officer with the Virginia State Police, the accident occurred at 7:20 a.m. August 5 when a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Maria Guadalupe Ramos, 18, of Callao, failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle as it traveled north at a high rate of speed on Lively Hope Road.
