Bay Bash organizers launch ‘Name that Fish!’

The Bay Bash Family Fishing Tournament and Benefit Concert, partnering with the White Stone Volunteer Fire Department will be held August 12 at Ingram Bay Marina in Wicomico Church.

This is a full day event featuring a multi-species fishing tournament followed by a benefit concert, featuring Jukin, reported organizer Capt. Billy Pipkin. Other attractions will include food, beverages, a raffle and amusements for the kids.

The tournament offers cash prizes for 10 different species of fish as well as a grand prize for the angler with the longest total inches of all their species. The youth and ladies division compete aggressively, often beating the men, said Capt. Pipkin. The event will be officiated by the Northern Neck branch of Fish Dispatch.

Meanwhile, organizers launched a “Name that Fish!” promotion. Help name the Bay Bash Mascot.

Folks are urged to come up with some great names and the little Bay Bash Fish will choose a name from those submitted. The person who submits the best name will win a Free Bay Bash T-shirt. The winner will be announced at the event. Send suggestions (Favorite Names) to
