Bay Bistro To-Go is vying for best smorgasbord honors

On the go and in need of a hearty, flavorful breakfast to jump start the day, or desiring a casual and cozy atmosphere to join a friend for lunch? Bay Bistro To-Go, 10 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, has it covered.

Kilmarnock native and entrepreneur Emily Hoar teamed up with chef Dale Ross to open Bay Bistro To-Go in late October.

“My shop (The Rivah) was voted number one in Virginia Living for best gift shop in Eastern Virginia and Dale was voted number one for best food truck (One Cracked Yolk) last year so we love to think we teamed up as the best of the best,” Hoar said.

When the retail space became available next to Hoar’s business, Salt and Sand, she was excited to dive into food service. She wanted to curate a space that was friendly and casual with delicious options, said Hoar.

With chef Ross at the helm of the kitchen, Bay Bistro offers an extensive menu of breakfast sandwiches and bagels to full breakfast and brunch plates. They also offer a variety of sandwiches, all served with homemade potato chips and a big pickle at lunch.
