Camp Kekoka invites local families to sign up for ‘staycation’ weekends

YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka offers “staycation” opportunities in the Northern Neck.

Camp Kekoka’s Family Camp will be offered July 24-26, July 31-August 2, August 28-30 and September 11-13.

Up to 10 members of one family may reserve a private cabin, each with a toilet and sink, air conditioning, and a large table with chairs for games, reported camp director Cassie Leichty. Each family unit will have a dedicated shower stall—one for girls and one for boys. Meals will be provided, too—breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.     

Arrive Fridays from 5-7 pm. Check-in and meet the friendly Camp Kekoka YMCA staff, said Leichty. Drop the gear at the cabin and then head outside for family games and fun—all while safely socially-distancing from other campers. Check-out is Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
