FORT WORTH, TX—Catherine Elaine Dawley-Dykes passed away February 7, 2024. She was 69 years old.
Cathy was born on December 10, 1954. She was the first child of R. Avery Dawley Jr. and Catherine B. Dawley. Her childhood was spent in Kilmarnock and White Stone, she attended Lancaster County schools and was a member of the LHS class of 1973.
After graduating from the Virginia School of Cosmetology in Richmond, Cathy began her professional career as a beautician, working in Richmond and then in Norfolk. As her family grew, Cathy decided to challenge herself again and returned to school earning a bachelor’s in radiological technology. She worked as a radiological technician until her retirement in 2023.
In 1996, Cathy’s family relocated to Austin, Texas, due to her husband being transferred. They relocated one more time to Fort Worth where they still reside.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents; and her half-brother, Michael L. Reedy.
She is survived by her children, Jason E. Setters, Christine D. Martin (Chris), Keifer J. Dykes and Dylan K. Dykes; and her grandchildren, Leah Setters, Tristan Martin and Emma Martin. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen D. Conboy (Brian); and her half-sister, Diane D. Conarroe (Jay).
