IRVINGTON—Two more homes in Irvington have been recommended for short-term rental (STR) status following a Tuesday, October 3, planning commission meeting.
Previously tabled to seek legal counsel, an application submitted by Mark Ralls to operate an STR at 294 Chesapeake Drive was recommended by town council for approval.
During the September commission meeting, members tabled action on the application due to a deed restriction on the property by a covenant attached to all properties in the Carter Creek Estates neighborhood.
According to zoning administrator Justin Nelson, the covenant indicates “No commercial enterprise or trade shall be conducted or carried on upon the property, nor shall anything be done thereon which may be or become a nuisance to the neighborhood. The professional practice in the home or dwelling on the property of medicine, law or any purely consultative profession, excluding the practice of veterinary medicine, is permissible.”
